Press Release:
CGOC Launches Online Professional Network and New Portal

Accelerating and facilitating exchange of ideas and expertise

Mountain View, CA, July 31, 2008 — CGOC, a corporate practitioners' forum uniquely focused on retention, preservation, and privacy, announced the launch of the CGOC Professional Network, a new networking site that provides the CGOC community with virtual interaction, and a new state-of-the-art research portal.

"The burdens and requirements of preservation and retention are more complex each year, and benchmarking with peers and getting expert help are more important than ever," said Deidre Paknad, Founder of CGOC, and President and CEO of PSS Systems. "The new online resources are exclusively for practitioners and experts and are a platform for exchanging and engaging more frequently and consistently."

The goal of CGOC has always been to provide a forum for interaction. By bringing together corporate practitioners and industry thought leaders, CGOC has helped legal, records, and compliance executives make better decisions. According to Vivian Tero, Compliance Infrastructure analyst at IDC, "The CGOC forum has done significant work in advancing the legal holds and retention practices of corporations."

Much like social networking sites, the CGOC Professional Network allows practitioners in the retention, discovery and privacy fields to:

  • Browse member profiles for relevant experts and industry peers
  • Create a profile page and share questions and expertise
  • Create or join an existing community group to discuss important topics
  • Publish a blog and invite comments
  • Invite colleagues to join
  • Alerts when colleagues publish new information

The new CGOC portal provides community members a place to find educational and benchmarking resources. From the latest relevant case proceedings to practical guidance, members can find valuable research and opinions from legal experts. This time-saving tool brings some of the best preservation, retention and privacy resources into one central place. Members can access:

  • Articles and papers by CGOC members and thought leaders
  • Case studies and presentations from corporate practitioners
  • Full event proceedings
  • The latest ideas and articles from the founder of CGOC
  • The CGOC Professional Network for personal collaboration
  • Alerts when content on favorite topics are published

The new sites can be accessed at www.cgoc.com.
